Why we believe in sauna
We believe sauna creates something that's increasingly hard to find: uninterrupted time to slow down and reconnect with yourself.
More than heat
We believe sauna is more than a wellness trend or recovery tool. It’s a practice that creates space for stillness, presence, and connection in a world that rarely slows down.
Every experience we offer is designed to help people step away from constant stimulation and into something quieter, simpler, and more intentional.
Whether it’s a solo reset, a community session, or a gathering with friends, the goal stays the same: to create experiences that leave you feeling clearer, lighter, and more grounded than when you arrived.
Built around ritual
The rhythm of heat, cold, and rest has been practiced for generations. We’ve taken that foundation and created modern sauna experiences that feel immersive, natural, and deeply restorative.
Heat, fresh air, natural surroundings, and intentional spaces all come together to create an experience that goes beyond the sauna itself.
founder story
Why Triple Peak was created
Founded with a simple belief that people feel better when they slow down together.
Founded on Vancouver Island in 2023 by longtime friends Matt Kupnicki and Nick Hutton-Jay, Triple Peak Sauna Co. grew from a shared love of wellness, craftsmanship, nature, and community. What began as conversations about sauna culture, cold plunges, and the restorative effects of heat evolved into something bigger: creating experiences that help people reconnect with themselves, each other, and the outdoors.
Inspired by traditional sauna rituals and the rugged beauty of the West Coast, Matt and Nick set out to build more than saunas. They wanted to create spaces where people could unplug, breathe deeply, recover, and be fully present.
For Matt, a Registered Acupuncturist and wellness practitioner, sauna naturally complemented his work in holistic health and recovery. After years of helping people manage stress, restore balance, and support physical healing, he saw firsthand how heat, cold exposure, breathwork, and intentional rest could positively impact both body and mind.
Nick brought a strong connection to craftsmanship, creativity, and the outdoors. As a woodworker, artist, and forager, he was drawn to the simplicity of sauna culture: cedar heat, cold water, fresh air, and good company. For him, sauna was never only about relaxation. It was about creating memorable experiences rooted in nature and shared connection.
Together, they built Triple Peak Sauna Co. around the idea that wellness should feel natural, accessible, and human.
What started as a small idea has grown into a wellness company offering mobile sauna experiences, private rentals, community sauna events, and handcrafted cedar saunas across Vancouver Island. Based on the shores of Sproat Lake, Triple Peak Sauna Co. brings sauna experiences to backyards, retreats, lakesides, festivals, campgrounds, and special events throughout the island.

Intentional experiences
Everything is designed to help people slow down and be more present in their daily lives.

We encourage everyone to step into the heat at least three times a week, whether that’s with us or somewhere else.
Simplicity
